This class will teach you useful crochet skills that will enhance your knitting projects. You will learn 2 different decorative edges, a crocheted seaming technique, and a useful cast on. Prerequisite: Must know how to make a basic crochet chain with even tension. Homework required.
Homework: Four swatches worked in basket weave, in smooth DK weight yarn.
Using US #4 or US#5 needle to get a fabric that isn’t too stiff or loose (exact gauge not important), approximately 4×4 inches square (actual size not critical).
Cast on: 24 sts. Work in garter stitch (knit both sides) for 6 rows, then:
Row 1) K3, P6, K6, P6, K3
Row 2) K3, K6, P6, K6, K3
Rows 3-8) repeat rows 1 & 2
Row 9) K3, K6, P6, K6, K3
Row 10) K3, P6, K6, P6, K3
Rows 11-16) repeat rows 9 & 10
Rows 17-24) repeat rows 1-8
Finish with 6 rows of garter stitch.
Block pieces flat.
Supplies to BringSupplies you need to bring: leftover balls of smooth DK weight yarn, variety of colors, crochet hook size “G” or “H”, knitting needle size US #6 any style.

About the Instructor: Tina Turner
Tina has been knitting for the last 40 years. For the last 6 years he has been the owner of her own teaching studio. Prior to owning her own studio, she was manager at Yarn Boutique for 5 years in Brighton NY. Her primary focus is to help people fix and understand their knitting issues. She hosts a small fiber show in February in Rochester NY and organizes a knitting retreat at the end of March.
